Lumitec
One of the newest products we love is Lumitec. Lumitec Marine LED lights have brought our night snorkeling and night diving to a whole new level and has also helped the Sylfia to stand out from the fleet, so to speak.
One of our favorite types of diving is night diving as you can see completely different types of marine life and behavior than during the day. The new lights installed on our hull have brought numerous enhancements to our dives. The lights underwater providing us with a beacon when we are further away from the boat, which provides us with peace of mind knowing which way to head toward when turning the dive.
The lights themselves attract various types of marine life to our vessel. We’ve been lucky to see squid, crustaceans, schools of bait fish, and plankton. This last has also attracted larger species, such as majestic manta rays and whale sharks, which feed on them and will follow the boat. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get some shots of these beauties silhouetted against the Sylfia’s hull soon.
We also love the way these lights make the Sylfia look at night. The LEDs change color too, so we can change the vibe of the boat at will and make it more distinctive at crowded anchorages.
Though the prospect of drilling holes into the hull of your boat may seem like a terrifying prospect, the results are well worth it! Look out for these lights in our upcoming videos!
